Hullaballoo!

Thanks all you lovely people who's been helping me to spread this around.

The euphoria of the photo shoot, the art direction and making of the trinkets has made me lose sight of the necessary business aspect. This is where you can all reach me:

All the little things that means something to me.

Ivory heart from grandma on the left.
My heart should always be in the right place.

Fire Engine on the centre.
Day of adventures with Shea that culminated at the Civil Defence Musuem, where I got this fire engine from.

Porcelain Snowman on the right.
Thrift is a virtue, I nearly parted $325 for a Chanel snowman which I really do not need.

Come December, I'm adding green beads and green leaves to it.
Merry Christmas to me.

Commissioned piece by Belynda.

Red-themed charm bracelet that hints of old world seduction.

Thanks Belynda, for the support and love.
I assure you that this was made with reciprocal thoughts of you as each charm was styled with your appreciation of bohemia in mind.

Price: $45

Another commissioned piece!

This time, it's a bracelet for little Chrissabel who is the 5 year old charge of my Auntie. (OK, the real story is that she's a tad chubbier than Shea. Hence couldn't fit into Shea's elastic bracelet. So my mum wanted me to make something that could actually go round Chrissabel's wrist that's not a tourniquet.)

And you know what? I actually enjoy making the kiddy stuff so much that I am starting a children's line!!! It's called BAMBINO.

I mean how often have I bought stuff for myself and I wished that it came in a kiddy/shorter/safer version that Shea could wear too?

And I can go all pink and saccharine and girly without guilt!

It's uncanny how the older we grow, we (some of us, at least) start to retrograde to our childhood and enjoy having the quirky Snowman, Pilsbury Doughboy, Fire Engine, Barbie logo, etc on our trinkets. But as a kid, all you really want is a glamourous string of your mummy's most glamourous (slash: obiang) bling bling ka-ching in your size?

At the end of the day, aren't we all kiddos at heart?

I HAVE MY FIRST CUSTOMER!! WOO HOO!!!

AND when I went to deliver stickers yesterday wearing soemthing I made ... I was asked if I wanted to sell it in their shop!!! WOO HOO!!!

But I didn't.

Anyway, I am just happy that my efforts didn't come out looking like trodden cabbage on a string and most importantly ... did not look pedestrian.

As for Customer #1, it's ..... drum roll ... MRS TAN!!!
Also known as Mdm Wong Maye-E. She commissioned me to make her a necklace just by seeing the earrings on my blog ... that is trust. Fruits of late night labour as above.

Earrings for Jacqui

Heng suay heng suay ... Straits Times' Urban Life decided to run a story on jewelry making the day I blogged about Quaint Secrets. And for the record, I have no insider news about cover stories for the newspaper as THE SOURCE is not in Singapore and even if THE SOURCE is in Singapore ... I also wouldn't know. Singapore Pools people don't know the next Toto combination right? Same theory.

Anyway, that's my first piece and it is given to my lovely colleague Jacqui.

I love assymetry!
But only if it hints of symmetry.

I'm confused.

To order: Email info@abigael.sg.

Dexterous Fingers, Deteriorating Eyesight.

Well, that's what I've been getting in exchange for my latest craze.
So why don't I make some money to get that eyesight corrected?

There are just oodles of things happening on the bead scene for me to put them together with the rest of my world.

I will not name the pieces frivolous romantic names as the best I can come up with are:

"Venus Picks Her Nose with Golden Scythe"
"Call Me Glitter Doll or Suck My Balls"
"Red Rooster Rises Early Like A Cherry Cock"

... see how good I am at naming?

Hence, they will simply be "Item: Number".

OK, for the heck of it, I will just name them ... only in the comments.

Pricing-wise: the cost of the pieces vary with the cost of the beads, the items, the level of intricacy and the amount of time.

And don't worry, medical costs for my punctured fingertips, the extraction of fishball sized beads that Shea swallows for a laugh and ruined manicures are NOT included.

With love, from Bishan.
