Steady lah Singapura!
Your infected tetanus jab inspired product designer to design antivirus cap lah!
"What is the decisive role of the designer/design team in the creation of the nominated design?:I was a little 8-year-old boat refugee girl from Vietnam back in 1980. I was rescued by a German cargo ship and ended up in a refugee camp in Singapore. Immediately after, I received a tetanus vaccination. The needle turned out to be infected, so I was sick for a very long time. To help people in need is part of who I am. I grew up in this part of the world where poverty and hunger were a natural part of the daily life. Therefore, social and moral responsibilities of design are highly rated in my world. One can say that; they have a direct impact on my way of working - both as a designer and as a person. Antivirus became a reality when I asked myself back in December 2004 doing my MA final graduation project: How can I, as a Danish industrial designer, help people in these parts of the world to a better life?"
