Well, yeah. Accidentally.
We didn't even know that Taufik was going to be there.
In fact, I had to tell Shea several times that he is actually quite famous and has a website (that is usually a benchmark of fame) and is the Singapore Idol and he can sing. She thought he was another regular dude that we were sitting amongst.

So Shea obliged for a photo. For me.

How did it happen? Let me backtrack.

It was the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2007 that was being previewed in Singapore at Cathay. At the invite of our very nice friend TAT WEE (see below) from Nickelodeon; Huini, Shea and I got tickets for it. All we knew was there we can see Justin Timberlake and Drake Bell slimed on the big screen and that was enough for us.

When we got there, Shea was paparazzi-averse and kept telling me to stop taking pictures of her. Until the real man she was there for ... the very very handsome kalipok hair JIMMY NEUTRON ... appeared and gave her a high five. She grabbed my camera for the very very sneaky between 2 heads shot - from her height. Very very impressive.

We proceeded to the cinema for the screening and were given VIP seats by Shane, the Mr Nice Ex-Colleague. We had nearly the whole row to ourselves and harboured hopes of Jimmy Neutron giving us high fives again. But till then, Shea had to amuse herself with were a couple of inflatable cheering pong pong sticks.

Then Taufik appeared.

My colleagues LOVE (HEART) LURVE him! 2 of the went for Singapore Idols finals and one of them even formed the "U" in the "TAUFIK" banner! (Ahem ... we cannot spell Taufik without "U" and "I"!!)

How can I disappoint my colleagues by not getting a picture of him for them right? How can? So all I could manage was this red-eyed pic of him ... until Shane ushered him to sit right in front of Shea. Wow.

So that began the whole affair of strategising how to ask for autographs (I got 4!) without seeming too desperate and groupie. Trust me, having a kid around is most convenient - "Hellow ah, my daughter wants you to sign this. Thank you hor." / "Hellow again ah, my daughter dug this tissue from her bag, can you sign it too?" / "Hi hi, now she wants a photo with you? Sorry ah."

Shameless.

Shea will thank me for this in 20 years time.
Or hate me.

Rachel, Alex ... this is for you hor.
This is for you.
