You make some, you break some, you try your best to keep to some.

To make sure that I finish the above stockpile of body moisturisers before I buy new ones ... that shouldn't be too difficult. Especially since I have put them together right beside my bed to remind myself to use them or risk getting in-grown hair and scaly elbows.

While the tangible efforts can be laid out in front of me to ensure that I stick to what I have resolved to do, it is the ones that offer no visual reminders that is going to make me a better person and require a great deal more determination.

A certain saga involving "Heroes", taught me to not be so petty. While the initial sense of betrayal and abandonment overhwhelms, it is a trivial matter in the grand scheme of things. Moving on is the key here as there is nothing I can do but treat this as a lesson in not being so naive. Time and tide waits for no one.

A certain conversation about "tell me about yours", taught me to appreciate my partner. There are so much that I have taken for granted. I should be focussing on the movie instead of the dead pixel on my screen.

A certain lunch topic about "ex-boyfriend from Phua Chu Kang", taught me about expectations. Have none of it. That way, everything becomes an act of consideration while everything else that did not happen becomes unnoticed. No more broken promises. No more broken hearts.

A certain email about "$800 more", taught me to cull my tunnel vision. There is a bigger plan out there. My life should not be planned in 6 months block but I have to know what I want to achieve in 6 years.

While these are conscious struggles that are fairly intrinsic ... penning it down just makes it a whole lot more workable for me.

It'll be a radical and interesting year.
