Simple.
I don't receive Christmas Cards anymore.
Period.

For those who know, I almost never write about my work on my blog (except the death of the heinous billowy Bailey's balloon outside my window which you will read about in the next post. Stay tuned.) because I know too many people in the industry and there are a lot of them out there that has chanced upon this humble piece of rant. I need to keep my job therefore my ONLY outlet for blustering remains a verbal one. Among close friends. Preferably out of the industry. Behind closed doors. After 2 beers.

What brings me to this point of indignation is actually an industry famine that deprives me of Christmas cards. So fine ... I spent my first Christmas here last year, without any cards except from my ex-bosses and i thought, hey ... smile and the world will spend their 22 cents on you. This year, I continue smiling and I have 2 cards! 2 cards!

Although one of which is an A4 size Christmas calendar that gives me endless hours of enjoyment with bad Christmas jokes, I am still feeling no love this season, yo. Where is the love? I used to get the most cards in the department because I send the most cards and I know people love me! Now?

I am dispirited.
For an industry that proclaims to be the soothsayer in such challenging times of communication, they are barely paying lip service because they are so without a soul.

Even the uncle contractors that I work with will send me a card that says "Sheng Dan / Xin Nian Kuai Le" in Chinese.

Picture note: That was a uber shiok foldable card that my colleague received from her "one-hit-wonder". I am jealous lah hence the angsty post. Maybe I just suck at my job.

PS: No, I don't think I suck! Some of my colleagues don't get it too!

Abs, I prepared a card for you. You just haven't opened it yet, lah.... :)
