The Pattern Seeker.

I stare at wallpapers to find where the pattern repeats.
I cross my eyes at the brocade designs to imagine how it would look as a mirror image.
I add up car plate numbers on the road automatically.
I remember phone numbers by searching for mathematical relationships.
My fascination with patterns began when I was 12. Since then, every piece of art I did centred around patterns and repetition. 14 years later, I finally draw relevance to my obsession with patterns to my current lifestyle and what it takes to unsettle me.
Please do not mistake chaos for disorderliness. To me, they are 2 different things. I can have 200 things happening in a chaotic manner, but as long as it repeats itself ... it's fine by me. If anything comes along to disturb my routine ... or establishes itself as Item No. 201, I get upset. Very upset.
It's a mystery how I dealt with the blows that came my way that has caused more than my own life to go into disarray (for example, the creation of a new life ... ahem). Nothing seems like a constant and there are just things in the mix that I would loathe to have in my repertoire.
I want my patterns.
Selectively.
